Email Set-up guide - Outlook Express

Open Outlook Express

Select 'Tools' from the top menu bar, then Accounts

Then click 'Add, then 'Mail'

Type in the name you wish to use for this account.

Type in your email address

eg. yourname@yourwebsite.com

Choose POP3

Enter your incoming mail server:

eg. mail.yourdomain.co.uk

 

And your Outgoing mail server:

eg. mail.yourdomain.co.uk

Enter your account name

eg. emailname+yourdomain.co.uk

NB. The plus sign replaces the @ sign here. This applies to the account name ONLY, it does not affect your email address.

Enter your password.

Both these can be found on the email issued to you when the email address was created.

Outlook Express Properties

To allow you to send mail through our mail servers you need to make one small change to the properties of the account.

Select Properies from the Accounts window

You need to click the box against

'My server requires authentication'

This is on the 'Servers' tab

 

Click OK to finish.

 

 

You can now send and receive email from your new account.
